Here's the story: I was running Visio 2002 under Win XP Pro 32 bit. I upgraded the computer to Win 7 64 bit.

I have been upgrading Visio since version 4.0 of Technical. To install the later versions I must install the older versions first. 4.0 will not install under Win 7 64 bit -- or at least I do not know how to get it to.

So here are the questions: 1) Can I run Visio Pro 2002 under Win 7 64 bit? 2) If not, what do I upgrade to? 3) How do I get around having to install Visio 4.0 Technical so that I can install the later upgrades? Lastly, I am running Office 2010. Visio is not a part of that suite. Thanks for the replies. In my experience, the only way I have been able to get 2002 installed is to install Version 4.0, then 4.1, then 2000, and finally 2002. Win 7 will not allow an install of Version 4.0 or 4.1. More info: I tried to install 2000 first. It wants the sertial number from an older version of Visio. I only have 4.1 and 4 -- before MS owned Visio.

At that time, no serial number was used. 4.1 would not install if 4.o was not installed. As a note, I have a printout of the About page from my Visio 2002 SP-2 install showing me as the licensee -- if this is useful in helping me. I really don't want to upgrade again as (a) I rarely use this program, and (b) I have spent way more money than I wanted to on upgrades to get to this point.
