I'm going to try this fix for the Direct Console. My problem is a little bigger though.

I thought that all of the preloaded programs would be on the disc that came with my Asus notebook, but after I installed Windows 7, I realized they weren't, and I basically lost all of the programs that came with it. I remembered some, like Direct Console and Power4Gear, but I'm really having trouble remembering/finding the other programs I had. I'd like to have them all back, so my notebook functions as it did before. It even seems to be running hotter than before. I know this may be a stretch, but does anyone have any idea which programs came with it? The exact model number is G50VT-X5, I believe. The OLED is stuck on 'Republic of Gamers' and the buttons to the right of it do not work anymore.
